Book One, The Wild Island Series

WILD POINT ISLAND

"Half romance and half mystery. Wild Point Island is a totally compelling novel." Amazon Reviewer

“We were drawn to Wild Point Island as if called by sirens, entrapped, and realized too late that there was no escaping our fate.”

Two twin sisters, Ella and Lily Pattenson, banished from their remote island home twenty years before, are lured back to rescue their father who is unjustly imprisoned in the bowels of the earth.

They aren’t ordinary sisters. Half human and half revenant, they possess special skills. They can thought-talk and read minds.

The island isn’t your typical island either. It is ruled by a corrupt Island Council. The revenants who live there are immortal beings who can’t leave. They consider the sisters second class citizens since they are half human.

Ella’s only hope is to trust a seductive revenant, Simon Viccars, who seems to have influence with the Council. He is sexy and like no man she’s ever met. But he’s been trapped on the island for 400 years and is willing to do anything for his freedom.

With the forces of the island conspiring against her, and her own sister sabotaging her every move, Ella is left with one choice, but rescuing her father means risking her heart and her life on love.

The Historical Connection

In 1585 The Roanoke Colony, also known as the Lost Colony, was established in what is today's Dare County, North Carolina. Queen Elizabeth I was trying to establish a permanent English settlement in North America. The colony was founded by Sir Walter Raleigh.

The colonists disappeared three years after the last shipment of supplies from England. To this day there is no conclusive evidence as to what happened to the colonists, but there are many hypotheses:

--Some believe the Spanish destroyed the colony.

--Some believe the colonists integrated with local tribes.

--Some believe the colonists perished due to a drought, now called the worst growing season drought in 800 years.

Shoreline erosion has destroyed archaeological evidence that could provide a more definitive answer. (Based on Wikipedia article.)

History Blends Into Myth

The Wild Island Books One and Two were inspired by a real historical event.

This Wild Island Series--Wild Point Island and The Blue Medallion--is based on the question, "What if . . ."

What if the colonists who landed on Roanoke Island left and then landed on a mythical island nearby called Wild Point Island? There, faced with the same harsh conditions, they had to make a choice. They could perish from starvation or they could survive.

Survival meant eating a plant which grew on the island. They would be turned into immortal beings, and they would be trapped on Wild Point Island forever.

This is their story.
